Our beloved Pastors

Hey!

I hope all of you are not too stressed with the exams coming so close. Come to think of it, this statement only applies to only some of us. hahahaha. Either way, "God is faithful, He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will provide a way out so that you can stand up under it" - 1 Corinthias 10:13

Proclaim it!

Ok, that was the side note. I was just looking through last week's service bulletin and I highlighted a column titled "Nation Transformation Conference 09". 4 of our church members would be going to that conference, namely Pastor Patrick and Pastor Joyce, Crystal (Community service ministry head) and Boon Wai (the only other church office staff =P). Lets keep these key members of our church in prayer: Safety in travels, health and the precious information that they intend to bring back to share - the nuggets. Also, pray for protection from spiritual attacks because the higher you are in influence and in your walk with God, the more the enemy would want to 'take you down'!

We can do this!

I was just thinking about the fruits of the spirit: (Gal 5:22)
Love
Joy
Peace
Patience
Kindness
Goodness
Faithfulness
Gentleness
Self-control

The last fruit stuck me the most since I'm suppose to be studying now! lol! But that's ok...I'm de-stressing now (and encouraging others) and later, I would be disciplined enough to concentrate 101% when I do hit my notes again!

Anyway, if you feel like I do, just remember that as we are Christians, we have the holy spirit living in us. With the holy spirit living in us, we WILL have the fruits of the spirit. If you read on in the bible it says, "Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires". How wonderful is that?!?!?! Any sinful desire including the so called I-can't-help-myself-but-watch-tv or something along those lines, it has no mastery on us!

So, where would you like to be - empowered by the holy spirit to do what we need to do or to do our hearts desires (which often times can be detrimental)?

Have a blessed time studying/working (in the case of Isabella)!!!

FRIDAY BBQ and other important information !!!!!!!!!!!

Hey lovely cellies,

Mechanism of action of penicillin (beta-lactams) is to inhibit bacteria peptidoglycan cell wall synthesis. This occurs via inhibition of the transpeptidase enzyme (penicillin binding proteins) and the glutamine complex on a peptidoglycan strand cannot cross link with the d-alanine on the adjacent peptidoglycan strand.

*My blood pressure increased when Im memorizing these facts for exams that are coming up soon*

How you guys coping ? I hope its all good, as u know, studying is really a privellage given from God and there's many kids out there who cant even get food, let alone study. But study stress still exist hey, therefore we need to DE-STRESS !!!! HOW ?! Lets have a cell outing this FRIDAY (6/11/09).

We've decided that we're gonna have a BBQ at Millpoint (5.15 pm start picking up people and start BBQ before 6 pm). We're gonna EAT EAT EAT and enjoy the fellowship and also play games along the way. No word of God for this week though. Everybody say: "AWWWWW =(". But yeah, we should study our word of God EVERYDAY isnt it ? hahaha...

Moreover, Justin and Bobby are required to bring their Guitars and we'll be having a FREE WORSHIP session as well. (Jon Loh and Jessie will be bringing their respective ones too).

All right, lastly, we're on WELCOME TEAM for this Sunday's afternoon service. Let us all look forward for such a great opportunity to Serve the Lord in Heaven. Dress code = Hoodie. Wear your hoodies this SUNDAY and let us practice Servant"HOOD".

Take my Son‏...

Take a moment to read it; the ending will surprise you.

Take my Son

A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art.

When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.

About a month later, just before Christmas,

there was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands.

He said, 'Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly. He often talked about you, and your love for art.' The young man held out this package. 'I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this.'

The father
opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture. 'Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your son did for me. It's a gift.'

The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected.

The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his paintings. Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection.

On the platform sat the painting of the son. The auctioneer pounded his gavel. 'We will start the bidding with this picture of the son. Who will bid for this picture?'

There was silence.

Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, 'We want to see the famous paintings. Skip this one.'

But the auctioneer persisted. 'Will somebody bid for this painting? Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?'

Another voice angrily. 'We didn't come to see this painting. We came to see the Van Gogh's, the Rembrandts. Get on with the Real Bids!'

But still the auctioneer continued. 'The son! The son! Who'll take the son?'

Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the long-time gardener of the man and his son. 'I'll give $10 for the painting..' Being a poor man, it was all he could afford.

'We have $10, who will bid $20?'

'Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters.'

The crowd was becoming angry.. They didn't want the picture of the son.

They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections.

The auctioneer pounded the gavel. 'Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!'

A man sitting on the second row shouted, 'Now let's get on with the collection!'

The auctioneer laid down his gavel. 'I'm sorry, the auction is over.'

'What about the paintings?'

'I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulation in the will. I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings.

The man who took the son gets everything!'

God gave His son 2,000 years ago to die on the cross. Much like the auctioneer, His message today is: 'The son, the son, who'll take the son?'

Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything.

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, WHO SO EVER BELIEVETH, SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE...THAT'S LOVE

A Beautiful Story

This is another beautiful story that I received through an email:

She jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said: 'How is my little boy? Is he going to be all right? When can I see him?'

The surgeon said, 'I'm sorry. We did all we could, but your boy didn't make it.'

Sally said, 'Why do little children get cancer? Doesn't God care any more? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?'

The surgeon asked, 'Would you like some time alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he's transported to the university.'

Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good bye to son.. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair. 'Would you like a lock of his hair?' the nurse asked. Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy's hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally.

The mother said, 'It was Jimmy's idea to donate his body to the University for Study. He said it might help somebody else. 'I said no at first, but Jimmy said, ' Mom , I won't be using it after I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom .' She went on, 'My Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of someone else. Always wanting to help others if he could.'

Sally walked out of Children's Mercy Hospital for the last time, after spending most of the last six months there. She put the bag with Jimmy's belongings on the seat beside her in the car.

The drive home was difficult. It was even harder to enter the empty house. She carried Jimmy's belongings, and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son's room.

She started placing the model cars and other personal things back in his room exactly where he had always kept them. She lay down across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep.

It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Lying beside her on the bed was a folded letter. The letter said:

'Dear20Mom ,

I know you're going to miss me; but don't think that I will ever forget you, or stop loving you, just 'cause I'm not around to say 'I Love You'. I will always love you, Mom , even more with each day. Someday we will see each other again. Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you won't be so lonely, that's okay with me. He can have my room and old stuff to play with. But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn't like the same things us boys do. You'll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like, you know.

Don't be s ad thinking about me. This really is a neat place. Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some, but it will take a long time to see everything. The angels are so cool. I love to watch them fly. And, you know what? Jesus doesn't look like any of his pictures. Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was Him. Jesus himself took me to see GOD! And guess what, Mom ? I got to sit on God's knee and talk to Him, like I was somebody important. That's when I told Him that I wanted to write you a letter, to tell you good bye and everything. But I already knew that wasn't allowed. Well, you know what Mom ? God handed me some paper and His own personal pen to write you this letter I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who is going to drop this letter off to you. God said for me t o gi ve you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him 'where was He when I needed him?' 'God said He was in the same place with me, as when His son Jesus was on the cross. He was right there, as He always is with all His children.

Oh, by the way, Mom , no one else can see what I've written except you. To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper. Isn't that cool? I have to give God His pen back now He needs it to write some more names in the Book of Life. Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper. I'm sure the food will be great.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don't hurt anymore the cancer is all gone.. I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore and God couldn't stand to see me hurt so much, either. That's when He sent The Angel of Mercy to come get me. The Angel said I was a Special Delivery! How about that?

Signed with Love from God, Jesus & Me.

Hope u enjoyed the story!!

A Brilliant conversation

An Atheist Professor of Philosophy was speaking to his Class on the Problem Science has
With
GOD , the ALMIGHTY. He asked one of his New Christian Students to stand and . . .

Professor :
You are a Christian, aren't you, son ?
Student :
Yes, sir.
Professor :
So, you Believe in GOD ?
Student :
Absolutely, sir.
Professor :
Is GOD Good ?
Student :
Sure.
Professor :
Is GOD ALL - POWERFUL ?
Student :
Yes.
Professor :
My Brother died of Cancer even though he Prayed to GOD to Heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn't. How is this GODgood then? Hmm?

(Student was silent )

Professor :
You can't answer, can you ? Let's start again, Young Fella.
Is GOD Good?
Student :
Yes.
Professor :
Is Satan good ?
Student :
No.
Professor :
Where does Satan come from ?
Student :
From . . . GOD . . .
Professor :
That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this World?
Student :
Yes.
Professor :
Evil is everywhere, isn't it ? And GOD did make everything. Correct?
Student :
Yes.
Professor :
So who created evil ?

(Student did not answer)

Professor :
Is there Sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness?
All these terrible things exist in the World, don't they?
Student :
Yes, sir.
Professor :
So, who Created them ?

(Student ha
d no answer)

Professor :
Science says you have 5 Senses you use to Identify and Observe the World around you. Tell me, son . . . Have you ever Seen GOD?
Student :
No, sir.
Professor :
Tell us if you have ever Heard your GOD?
Student :
No , sir.
Professor :
Have you ever Felt your GOD , Tasted your GOD , Smelt your GOD ?Have you ever had any Sensory Perception of GOD for that matter?
Student :
No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Professor :
Yet you still Believe in HIM?
Student :
Yes.
Professor :
According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student :
Nothing. I only have my Faith.
Professor :
Yes, Faith. And that is the Problem Science has.

Student :
Professor, is there such a thing as Heat?
Professor :
Yes.
Student :
And is there such a thing as Cold?
Professor :
Yes.
Student :
No, sir. There isn't..

(The Lecture Theatre became very quiet with this turn of events )

Student :
Sir, you can have Lots of Heat, even More Heat, Superheat, Mega Heat, White Heat,
a Little Heat or No Heat.
But we don't have anything called Cold.
We can hit 458 Degrees below Zero which is No Heat, but we can't go any further after that.
There is no such thing as Cold.
Cold is only a Word we use to describe the Absence of Heat.
We cannot Measure Cold.
Heat is Energy.
Cold is Not the Opposite of Heat, sir, just the Absence of it.

(There was Pin-Drop Silence in the Lecture Theatre )

Student :
What about Darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as Darkness?
Professor :
Yes. What is Night if there isn't Darkness?
Student :
You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the Absence of Something
You can have Low Light, Normal Light, Bright Light, Flashing Light . . .
But if you have No Light constantly, you have nothing and its called Darkness, isn't it? In reality, Darkness isn't. If it is, were you would be able to make Darkness Darker, wouldn't you?
Professor :
So what is the point you are making, Young Man ?
Student :
Sir, my point is your Philosophical Premise is flawed.
Professor :
Flawed ? Can you explain how?
Student :
Sir, you are working on the Premise of Duality. You argue there is Life and then there is Death, a Good GOD and a Bad GOD. You are viewing the Concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science can't even explain a Thought. It uses Electricity and Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view Death as the Opposite of Life is to be ignorant of the fact that Death cannot exist as a Substantive Thing.
Death is Not the Opposite of Life: just the Absence of it
Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your Students that they evolved from a Monkey?
Professor :
If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process, yes, of course, I do.
Student :
Have you ever observed Evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shook his head with a Smile, beginning to realize where the Argument was going )

Student :
Since no one has ever observed the Process of Evolution at work and Cannot even prove that this Process is an On-Going Endeavor,
Are you not teaching your Opinion, sir?
Are you not a Scientist but a Preacher?

(The Class was in Uproar )

Student :
Is there anyone in the Class who has ever seen the Professor's Brain?

(The Class broke out into Laughter )

Student :
Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's Brain, Felt it, touched or Smelt it? . . .
No one appears to have done so.
So, according to the Established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that You have No Brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then Trust your Lectures, sir?

(The Room was Silent. The Professor stared at the Student, his face unfathomable)

Professor :
I guess you'll have to take them on Faith, son.
Student :
That is it sir . . . Exactly !
The Link between Man & GOD is FAITH.
That is all that Keeps Things Alive and Moving.

NB:

I believe you have enjoyed the Conversation . . . and if so .. .
You'll probably want your Friends / Colleagues to enjoy the same . . . won't you?

Prayer REquest.

Hey all.

I have a prayer request. In about a weeks time, I am going to be sitting for my second term exams. Needless to say, I am scared.

Whenever there are exams, no student is an atheist. God often gets more emails than usual on his laptop with infinite hard drive space. Infact; sometimes I wonder how God must feel. He's often ignored the entire four months only to be assailed whenever exams are close by "HELP ME NOW OMG PLEASE HELP ME NOW I PROMISE TO BE A PASTOR.". I suppose if I was God, I would feel annoyed. And if I am God I'd probably send fire and brimstone down on that irritating little person.

Thank God I am not God.

Right now, I'm past that stage where I promise God I'll be a half time pastor and a full time monk if he lets me get to the toilet on time without blowing up. I'm also past that stage of treating God like a chinese trader in a Bazaar. However, I still am at that stage of running to daddy whenever problems come up. After all, we don't normally call our parents when were having fun, but we instinctually do whenever we have a problem.

I can't help wondering if God is just slightly annoyed.

Anyways; I'm asking for God's grace. I need to get into a good university, preferably one with walls made out of limestone. I also need God for his guidance especially with the time being so close to exams. I need clear understanding, a clear mind and strict discipline.

Please pray for me too.

Now, Now.. be nice..

And so! The results of the last cell group meeting!

Yan Hua's stock value went up by 100% thanks to her outstanding sour curry chicken! On the ZiSDAQ(Zion Stock Demand and Exchange) she is now currently rated at a grand total of 40 cents.

Jesse's stock value has also gone up by around 100% as well thanks to the ever so satisfying spaghetti creation that was so creatively was served in a dog bowl! Current rate is now 30 cents.

Geraldine's stock value thanks to the pizza went up by about 150% however, due to the lack of cutting the pineapple bits into more manageable portions, the percentage was sliced to only 50%.
Therefore, Ger's rate is now at 30 cents as well.

On another note. The results for the arm wrestling challenge.

Bobby vs Hawe. Hawe wins.

Joseph vs Bobby. Bobby wins.

Geraldine vs Joseph. Geradine wins.

Joseph vs Jonathan. Jonathan wins.

Now that were done with the results. Announcements!

Remember all, that each of us are assigned a single person to show love to. Sounds daunting?I thought so too. Largely because I am a guy; and being a guy, any acts of love I show to another guy would result in a degree of awkwardness.

Justin: I love you.

Joseph: ergh...

However, if I show love to a girl, I would definitely be accused of liking that girl.

So you know what, lets dispense with the, "yer, you like her!"

Or the, " dude, that's so gay, " stuff for at least 40 days!

There are many practical ways to show love to a person.

1) buying chocolates for them and asking someone else to give it to him or her.

2) compliment that person on something, or something nice she or he is wearing.

3) chat with that person about something you'd know he'd love to talk about ( I personally like to talk about video games)

4) a pat on the back.

5) make him or her laugh.

6) give your share of steamboat.

Until then all, keep loving!

Isaiah 65:24

This story was written by a doctor who worked in
South Africa...

One night I had worked hard to help a mother in the
labor ward; but in spite of all we could do, she
died
leaving us with a tiny premature baby and a crying
two-year-old daughter. We would have difficulty
keeping the baby alive, as we had no incubator (we
had
no electricity to run an incubator).

We also had no special feeding facilities. Although
we
lived on the equator, nights were often chilly with
treacherous drafts. One student midwife went for
the
box we had for such babies and the cotton wool that
the
baby would be wrapped in.

Another went to stoke up the fire and fill a hot
water
bottle. She came back shortly in distress to tell
me
that in filling the bottle, it had burst (rubber
perishes easily in tropical climates). "And it is
our
last hot water bottle!" she exclaimed. As in the
West,
it is no good crying over spilled milk so in Central
Africa it might be considered no good crying over
burst
water bottles. They do not grow on trees, and
there
are no drugstores down forest pathways.

"All right," I said, "put the baby as near the fire
as
you safely can, and sleep between the baby and the
door
to keep it free from drafts.? Your job is to keep
the
baby warm."

The following noon, as I did most days, I went to
have
prayers with any of the orphanage children who chose
to
gather with me. I gave the youngsters various
suggestions of things to pray about and told them
about
the tiny baby. I explained our problem about
keeping
the baby warm enough, mentioning the hot water
bottle,
and that the baby could so easily die if it got
chills.
I also told them of the two-year-old sister,
crying
because her mother had died.

During prayer time, one ten-year old girl, Ruth,
prayed
with the usual blunt conciseness of our African
children. "Please, God" she prayed, "send us a
water
bottle. It'll be no good tomorrow, God, as the
baby
will be dead, so please send it this afternoon."

While I gasped inwardly at the audacity of the
prayer,
she added, "And while You are about it, would You
please
send a dolly for the little girl so she'll know You
really love her?"

As often with children's prayers, I was put on the
spot.
Could I honestly say, "Amen". I just did not
believe
that God could do this. Oh, yes, I know that He
can do
everything, the Bible says so. But there are
limits,
aren't there?? The only way God could answer this
particular prayer would be by sending me a parcel
from
homeland. I had been in Africa for almost four
years
at that time, and I had never, ever received a
parcel
from home. Anyway, if anyone did send me a parcel,
who
would put in a hot water bottle?? I lived on the
equator!? Halfway thr ough the afternoon, while I
was
teaching in the nurses' training school, a message
was
sent that there was a car at my front door.

By the time I reached home, the car had gone, but
there,
on the veranda, was a large twenty-two pound parcel.
I
felt tears pricking my eyes. I could not open the
parcel alone, so I sent for the orphanage children.

Together we carefully untied each knot. We folded the paper, taking care not to
tear it unduly. Excitement was mounting.

Some thirty or forty pairs of eyes were focused on
the
large cardboard box. From the top, I lifted out
brightly colored, knitted jerseys. Eyes sparkled
as I
gave them out. Then there were the knitted
bandages
for the leprosy patients, and the children looked a
little bored. Then came a box of mixed raisins and
sultanas - that would make a batch of buns for the
weekend. Then, as I put my hand in again, I felt
the
... could it really be?? I grasped it and pulled it
out
- yes, a brand-new, rubber hot water bottle. I
cried.
I had not asked God to send it; I had not truly
believed that He could? Ruth was in the front row
of
the children. She rushed forward, crying out, "If
God
has sent the bottle, He must have sent the dolly
too!"

Rummaging down to the bottom of the box, she pulled
out the small, beautifully dressed dolly. Her eyes
shone!
She had never doubted!

Looking up at me, she asked: "Can I go over with you
and
give this dolly to that little girl, so she'll know
that
Jesus really loves her?"

That parcel had been on the way for five whole
months.
Packed up by my former Sunday school class, whose leader
had heard and obeyed God's prompting to send a hot
water
bottle, even to the equator. And one of the girls
had
put in a dolly for an African child - five months
before, in answer to the believing prayer of a
ten-year-old to bring it "that afternoon."

"Before they call, I will answer" (Isaiah 65:24).
This
awesome prayer takes less than a minute.? When you
receive this, say the prayer, that's all you have to
do.
No strings attached. Just send it on to whomever
you
want - but do send it on. Prayer is one of the
best
free gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot
of
rewards.

Let's continue praying for one another: Father, I
ask
you to bless my friends reading this right now. I
am
asking You to minister to their spirit at this very
moment. Where there is pain, give them Your peace
and
mercy. Where there is self doubting, release a
renewed
confidence to work through them. Where there is
tiredness or exhaustion, I ask You to give them
understanding, guidance, and strength as they learn
submission to Your leading. Where there is
spiritual
stagnation, I ask You to renew them by revealing
Your
nearness, and by drawing them into greater intimacy
with
You. Where there is fear, reveal Your love, and
release to them Your courage. Where there is a sin
blocking them, reveal it, and break its hold over my
friend's life.

Bless their finances, give them greater vision, and
raise up leaders and friends to support and
encourage
them. Give each of them discernment to recognize
the
evil forces around them, and reveal to them the
power
they have in You to defeat it. I ask you to do
these
things in Jesus' name.

you're
not willing to move your feet."

John 3:16

A little boy was selling newspapers on the corner, the people were
in
and out of the cold. The little boy was so cold that he wasn't
trying to sell many papers. He walked up to a policeman and said,
"Mister, you wouldn't happen to know where a poor boy could find a warm
place to sleep tonight would you? You see, I sleep in a box up around
the corner there and down the alley and it's awful cold in there for
tonight. Sure would be nice to have a warm place to stay."

The policeman looked down at the little boy and said, "you go down the
street to that big white house and you knock on the door. When they
come out the door you just say John 3:16, and they will let you in."
So he did. He walked up the steps and knocked on the door, and a lady
answered. He looked up and said, "John
3:16." The lady said, "Come on
in, Son." She took him in and she sat him down in a split bottom rocker
in front of a great big fireplace, and she went off. The boy sat
there for a while and thought to himself: John
3:16...I don't
understand it, but it sure makes a cold boy warm.

Later she came back and asked him "Are you hungry?" He said,
"Well, just a little. I haven't eaten in a couple of days, and I guess I
could stand a little bit of food," The lady took him in the kitchen and sat
him down to a table full of wonderful food. He ate and ate until he couldn't
eat any more. Then he thought to himself: John
3:16...Boy, I sure don't
understand it but it sure makes a hungry boy full.

She took him upstairs to a bathroom to a huge bathtub filled with warm
water, and he sat there and soaked for a while. As he soaked, he thought
to himself: John 3:16... I sure don't understand it, but it sure makes a dirty
boy clean. You know, I've not had a bath, a real bath, in my whole life. The
only bath I ever had was when I stood in front of that big fire hydrant as they
flushed it out.The lady came in and got him. She took him to a room, tucked him
into a big old feather bed, pulled the covers up around his neck, kissed him goodnight
and turned out the lights. As he lay in the darkness and looked out the window at
the snow coming down on that cold night, he thought to himself: John
3:16...I
don't understand it but it sure makes a tired boy rested.

The next morning the lady came back up and took him down again to that
same big table full of food. After he ate, she took him back to that same
big old split bottom rocker in front of the fireplace and picked up a big Bible.
She sat down in front of him and looked into his young face. "Do you understand
John
3:16?" she asked gently. He replied, "No, Ma'am, I don't. The first time
I ever heard it was last night when the policeman told me to use it," She opened the
Bible to John
3:16 and began to explain to him about Jesus. Right there, in front of
that big old fireplace, he gave his heart and life to Jesus. He sat there and thought:
John 3:16....don't understand it, but it sure makes a lost boy feel safe.

You know, I have to confess I don't understand it either, how God
was willing to send His Son to die for me, and how Jesus would agree to
do such a thing. I don't understand the agony of the Father and every
angel in heaven as they watched Jesus suffer and die. I don't
understand the intense love for ME that kept Jesus on the cross till the
end. I don't understand it, but it sure does make life worth living.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.
